Yes, that is where we found ourselves this past weekend for Pre-school Sunday where our youngest showed off her learned talents from her Baptist Pre-school. No we don’t get Presbyterian demerits; in fact we might get brownie points for sitting in the front row, something we hardly do in our church.
I have no qualms branching across the denominational aisles so to speak. I always like variety in religion and have seen the spectrum from Catholic to Evangelical, all good. I haven’t warned our church of the temptation of the Baptist church being five minutes up the road from us…that is a few more snooze button depressions if I remember correctly…but I’m committed to First Pres so it wouldn’t be a permanent solution, just a way to go to church if I don’t make it to the one across the township borderline.
Have you stepped into a different church outside of your denomination? Would you ever leave your church for another or are you a member for life?

Christian Carders
Wow, I couldn’t wait to share this hot on the heels of our discussion of Twitter. I added God’s Fingers to Entrecard and couldn’t wait to make some drops. God Bless the admins at Entrecard because I was approved in no time and wanted to check out the Religious network there. It didn’t take any time for me to find Christian Carders, a group of Christian blogs that are on Entrecard. Amen!
We have to thank the Quiverfull Family for managing the Christian Carders and making it easier for Christian blogs to connect.
Don’t worry, I didn’t waste any time Twittering about it.
Follow God’s Fingers on Twitter
God’s Fingers is on Twitter. The 12 disciples were definitely the first Jesus network but I have to say I can’t help but think that they would have taken advantage of today’s social networking tools. Imagine Paul following up on his letters to the Ephesians or Corinthians or whomever he was giving spiritual guidance to. OR imagine Paul and his bewilderment on reading the entries of his followers.
Of course the social networking aspect seems more New Testament than Old Testament. I wouldn’t think that it would have been as effective as the burning bush when God wanted to talk to Moses. Joseph might have made good use with it while working for the Pharaoh though and if there were a Digg or Reddit back in the day I imagine the “antics” of Noah building an ark would have gotten many hits in the humor arena…of course the joke would have been on them.
So, come on now, think outside the box. Name a biblical figure and name his social networking tool. Oh...and don't forget to follow us on Twitter!
First Comment at God's Fingers
We have to cherish and praise God for all those blessings along our path. I found a blessing today, of all days, on Mother’s Day. It was our first comment on God’s Fingers.
Who’s the lucky first commenter? Yes I have to share with you. It was IcyCucky of Wandering Thoughts and Reach Beyond Limits. You’ll have to visit both of her blogs because they are so sunny and vibrant you won’t want to miss it. Those are two sites I’d love to visit on a rainy day because they’ll bring some sunshine in.
So thank you IcyCucky aka BC Doan for your visit and first comment. God Bless You and Happy Mother’s Day!
Phenomenal Woman
I was sharing with my Writely Applied readers a wonderful YouTube for Mother’s Day by Amy Sky called Phenomenal Woman. It is actually a Maya Angelou poem that Amy has set to music. It is incredible.
For all the incredible women out there…

Child of God
Hans Christian Anderson poetically stated that “Everyman’s life is a fairy tale written by God’s fingers.” Based on rules of poetic law then everyman is a child of God whether he owns up to it or not. I suppose not all would think our life a fairy tale, but then we’ve always left out or forgotten about all the nasty and evil bits. Yeah, fairy tales are never entirely pretty; it chills you right down to the bone if you think about it. Neither are our lives, which although being likened to having a life like a fairy tale sounds sugar-coated it is really a blessing and a remarkable testament of our will to overcome.
Do you have something to overcome? Do you want that fairy tale ending that only God can provide? I believe it, don’t you? Let’s walk together…

Psalm 23 - We're In This Together
Psalm 23
A psalm of David.
1 The LORD is our shepherd, we shall not be in want.
2 He makes us lie down in green pastures,
he leads us beside quiet waters,
3 he restores our souls.
He guides us in paths of righteousness
for his name's sake.
4 Even though we walk
through the valley of the shadow of death,
we will fear no evil,
for you are with us;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort us.
5 You prepare a table before us
in the presence of our enemies.
You anoint our heads with oil;
our cups overflow.
6 Surely goodness and love will follow us
all the days of our lives,
and we will dwell in the house of the LORD
forever.
